Everything that Carol does is an outgrowth of interest, passion and a reverence for the meaning and importance of joy and celebration.

It is a fact that each of us is shaped by our personal and professional experiences. It affects how we see the world, how we react, how we relate and how we set our priorities.  Carol is no different.  With her background (see below),, she brings her vision, talents and  energy to each and every thing she does.

Art, in many forms, has always been an important part of her life.

In 1988, her husband died. Needing a way to express herself, Carol began writing. Her initial journals were cathardic, allowing her to vent much of the emotion that threatened to overcome her as she sought to define her "different" life. From the Journals, Carol moved to essays, poems and snippets. She joined Toastmasters and earned her CTM. It was here that she worked on her ability to turn her observations into presentations. Several are included in the Writer's area on this site.

During this time, Carol was fortunate to travel to Spain and Isreal. Using her Uncle Jack's Nickomat (heavy) camera, she took her first set of travel images. She planned to share her trip with her family via the photographs as well as use them for a series of paintings. She decided that the photographs did not need  re-interpretation and could stand on their own.  It was then that she began her photographic education through interviews and mentoring with established photographers, photographic studies,  readings and workshops to refine her technique.

Initially her focus was landscapes both macro and micro. It was actually by chance that she began photographing  people -- her grandson was born.  Pictorial studies of his endless expressions captured the attention of others.  As a result, from 1994-2009 Carol Bluestein Photography thrived in the Capital District -- in and around Albany, NY/

In addition Carol has over thirty years of experience in event and product production, promotion, marketing, sales, management, graphics design and web development.  This gives her a unique perspective for every project she undertakes and an understanding how it all works together to produce the best environment for visibility and awareness..

 Background

During her career, Carol has been a volunteer, board member, instructor and/or director in the areas of community service, arts, tourism, business and education.  She has also produced flat floor shows including craft shows and plant & flower shows, a local TV show, and musical events for both profit and non-profit sponsors.

Carol then moved on to the computer industry as a teacher, analyst, designer and programmer for independent businesses, corporations and NYS -- for stand-a-lone, enterprise and web applications. She developed her own consulting business to help other businesses and organizations develop solutions in the areas of information processing, bookkeeping, computerization, promotion and customer relations and communications.

When a series of unexpected life-altering events occurred, she channeled her heightened awareness and coping processes into motivational essays and presentations.  Her focus is dealing with change on many levels --  including personal, professional, spiritual, emotional and physical. She shares her experiences and insights on developing a more satisfying lifestyle by consciously making choices that add to the quality of life. As a public and motivational speaker, audiences appreciate and enjoy her warmth, honesty, perspective and sense of humor.

Carol makes her home in Slingerlands, and currently shares it with her rescued constant companions: a miniature poodle, a Lhasa Apso and a pond full of fish. She sees her children and grandchildren on a regular basis.
