Pre-Wedding & Hours Before Wedding  Sample Proofs

Every wedding is different - it is not only the people but how they relate to each other in front of a camera.  This has nothing to do with how much in love they are, but how relaxed they allow themselves to be.  This couple was not comfortable in front of the camera for our pre-wedding shoot.  But after they saw their proofs, they were completely natural -- whether or not they were being photographed and accommodating.  The results show some interesting sequences and some private moments.  In addition, they made themselves available, time-wise, for a couple of hour long posing sessions: in the bride's dressing room, and after the ceremony and before the reception.

Both were concerned that their eyes would be closed for every shot.   That did not happen. The groom-to-be was a little uncomfortable, so we tried some playful poses.  It worked.
This is the picture they chose for their engagement announcement. I liked this - for a moment they were oblivious to the camera & absorbed in each other.
The Day of the Wedding
The wedding took place at the Circular Manor, Saratoga. I was completely entranced by the interior and the woodwork.
The wood is cross-cut oak and the detail just drew me in. A sun lit corner of the living room.
Had just enough time to photograph the rooms before the bride arrived. While she was getting ready, she helped her dad with some finishing touches.
Here, her friend applies the finishing touches to her make-up. We were early enough to get some photographs in the brides boudoir.
It was hard to pick just a few examples. See what I mean?
Finally it was time to leave and her matron of honor takes care of some finishing touches. One last check to make sure everything is in place.
The staircase was too beautiful to ignore so we took a set of photographs with the brides wedding party. This is a close-up of the bride, her mom and dad for a good look at their faces.
And, here is the long shot with a good look at the bridal gown. The limo is waiting.
Finally, it is time to go. The groom and his best man, his brother, are ready and waiting for the ceremony to begin.
